Oncologic Imaging

Medical imaging has long served several important purposes in cancer care.

The first is cancer detection, which can now find the disease in its earliest stages, when it's most treatable. Imaging is also helpful in determining the location and stage of a particular cancer, which is essential to treatment.

And it's vital in the surveillance of cancer's progression and the efficacy of treatment.

At Servant Medical Imaging, we understand imaging's role in the fight against cancer. And we recognize that cancer raises the stakes. That's why we provide a wide range of oncology-related imaging capabilities with the board-certified skill needed to provide optimal care.

Comprehensive medical imaging to find & stage cancer.

CT can, with its ability to directly image and differentiate soft-tissue structures, reveal large space-occupying lesions, tumors and metastases . |It also reveals the size, spatial location and extent of the tumor. CT's image acquisition speed makes it able to image tumors in the lungs, which move with respiration. CT is also a mainstay in the planning of many cancer therapies.

MRI is helpful in the detection of a variety of cancers, tumors of the brain, neck and spine and metastases in the chest, abdomen and bones. MRI also helps determine the nature of lesions due to its excellent differentiation of soft tissue.

Contrast-enhanced MRI is emerging as an important complementary modality that's ideal for evaluating liver metastases, gastrointestinal tumors and gynecologic malignancies. It reveals metabolically inactive cancers and liver lesions that other imaging modalities may not detect. MRI is also the best way to evaluate peritoneal metastases.

Other modalities can contribute to the detection, diagnosis, staging, treatment and monitoring of cancer. We combine all these methods - including X-rays and ultrasound - to provide comprehensive oncologic imaging.
